Okay, let's just stipulate that every married man eventually has an affair. That's not true but let's go with it. Now, let's talk about Edwards when he had his inevitable affair.
It was reckless as hell. He was running for president for heaven's sake! What kind of judgment is that?
He publicly announced that his wife was "was in remission" when he had the affair Damn. It is OK because she was in remission? If that isn't the world recored for weaseldom I don't know what is.
He publicly announced that he "didn't love her." Why do that? Was he just trying to tell us that he just wanted a piece of ass and Rielle Hunter was nothing more than a piece of ass? What a gentleman. I guess he thinks not loving her is a mitigating circumstance but it just means he used Hunter as an object he exploited for his pleasure. If it turns out that he really is that little girl's father, it was an exceptionally slimy thing to do. Even if he isn't the father, why publicly disrespect the woman that way? This guy makes my skin crawl.
If the affair was short and ended in 2006, why was he skulking around a hotel at 2:00am to visit her three weeks ago? Seems like he is still lying about something.
There are sure a lot of lawyer weasel words around this thing. The worst is the whole claim that if somebody he paid her off, he doesn't know anything about it. That isn't what real people say. They say, "Nobody paid her off." His whole sentence construct is built with an out when it is proved she was paid off. It is brutally obvious lawyer talk.
Just watch the guy pretend he doesn't know what the questioner is talking about. This guy is about an inch deep.
This whole thing didn't harm Edwards so much as show him for the slimy character he is.
By that rationale, McCain is slimy as well. But we knew that already.

Edwards did Obama a huge favor by covering up his dalliance. Had he been revealed before Iowa, it is likely Hillary would have taken the state and gained the momentum to get the nomination. Obama lucked out again just like he did when his 2004 Senate opponent Jack Ryan collapsed in a sex scandal. He is one lucky dude.

These are the question you should responding too, and telling us why McCane is being held to a different standard. But you cleverly snaked around it to tell us how lucky Obama is.
Honestly,
Do you think Obama could have carried half of McCane's baggage above and be in the position he is in now?
I know you can be a convincing fella at times but please show me how this is not a double-standard that you are willing to ignore; and where is your vocal rejection of him on your "Real Revo" website?

And why are you not clamoring for his wife's tax return to be held to public scrutiny?

1) The lies
2) America loves Elizabeth Edwards
3) It is not old news
Having affair doesn't kill a political career, it knocks it unconscious for a while.
If years from now we find out the child is actually his, his political career will regain consciousness only to be killed once and for all.

Looks like Iowans have good judgement, they saw something that others couldn't see. He spent years courting them but they rejected him in the primary caucuses. If Barack Obama makes it all the way, he will have to say a big "thank you" to Iowa, even many black voters took their cue from the Iowans.

The only time these little affairs become a scandal is when one party gets mad at the other for something or when they get careless and get caught. I wonder how many talkshoppers have had a little " slap & tickle" on the side ,but he/she hasn`t been caught yet?..

Its a mix. There are two gay men and a lesbian in congress. One gay man and the lesbian are Democrats. The other gay man is a Republican. There are plenty of sex scandals - gay and straight - to go around on both sides of the aisle.
