Hostage in the UK

Yesterday we had a non terrorist hostage taking in Nuneaton near Coventry.

The guy used a shotgun. If early statements were correct it was "sawn-off".

For the anti gun lobby who would be salivating at a gun being used this way. If it was "sawn-off" it was already illegal, and probably already used in the commission of a crime, or was intended for that purpose. It would not have been a legally held or owned weapon.

Banning firearms would not have stopped this gun being used.

The incident was stopped quite quickly and the perp may have been shot? but is under arrest and being questioned so still alive.
