What if your kettle packs up

In the UK/America/Canada you check the fuse, and if that's OK if it is me you use a bad word followed by it, and then you go off and buy a new kettle.

In Grenada reach for the Baygon, spray the switch wait until it's dried a bit... otherwise it may make a minor explosion.... (ask me how I know). Then jiggle the switch and then voila it works....Bloody ANTS yet again. This is getting beyond a joke.

Why are antz so attracted to electrical outlets and switch contacts? What a nuisance and danger they can be.
Try using an aprooved contact cleaner that doesn't conduct. Quite sure the antz will look for another place to set settle for a while.

I would suspect that any contact cleaner worth its salt would clean the contacts, and thereby increase conductivity. any reduction in conductivety would equate to resistance which would generate heat. Not a good thing in your domestic wiring.
