Re: Wake up!

Zizka was a contemporary and follower of Jan Hus.  As you know, Hus was one of the first protestants preceding Luther by about 100 years.  He was burned at the stake in 1415 and became, not just a religious symbol, but a powerful political symbol of Czech independence from and resistance to Germanic control.

Zizka was the military arm of resistance to the Habsburgs, Vienna and the crapulent Holy Roman Empire.  He was undefeated on the battlefield.

Re: Wake up!

Here is a photo I took of the statue of Jan Hus in Old Town Square in Prague in 2015.  The statue was put up in 1919 when Czechoslovakia first got independence from Vienna following World War I.  During the years behind the Iron Curtain following World War II, it became an icon of resistance to Soviet domination.

Re: Wake up!

Here is a photo of the statue of Jan Zizka also in Prague.  It is the third largest equestrian statue in the world.
