Re: Grenada gettin lash

And the Methane and Nitrous Oxide? We'll all be laughing with that one.

Quite a long time ago the melting perma frost of the Siberian wastes was supposed to accelerate the release of Methane. Just like the melting polar caps was supposed to reduce heat reflection. As they are now talking about sailing across the North Pole whereas a while back submarines had to punch there way up through the ice I guess the melting is real.

Me I would prefer to be a loose boweled alarmist than an indifferent ostrich. While I am not denying general natural change, I would prefer to know I didn't make the planet unlivable for great grandchildren when caution could have made it great great great grandchildren.

Be whatever you want.  It won't effect the weather in the least.

Re: Grenada gettin lash

That is the Ostrich speaking.

The loose boweled alarmist would at least attempt to minimise his or his species impact. Rather than suggest trillions of car journeys a day, many millions of Lorries all consuming a buried energy source and evacuating it out into the atmosphere has no impact whatsoever. Never mind major industrialised countries belching toxins and sundry gases by the ton. However frugal even shipping may be massive engines pumping fumes from heavy oil behind them all around the world... None of these things are having the slightest impact.  Yeah right.

The billions of humans who now populate the globe who in Cities can noticeably raise the ambient temperature just by activity and body temperature, not to mention the trillions of animals raised to feed them all defecating and indirectly being responsible for deforestation etc.  Yeah, right, we certainly will not have had any impact on the climate. We have a fair bit of sand in Grand Anse, knock yourself out.

Re: Grenada gettin lash

Two choices...

1) You commit suicide and have your body sealed in a bottle and sank in the bottom of the ocean never to release a single molecule of carbon-dioxide again, or...

2) You drive a big V-8 engine car everywhere, you fly commercial a lot, you eat lots of beef and do everything you can to maximize your carbon footprint.

RD can't change anything.

RD is powerless.

RD doesn't vote because it doesn't do anything.

RD doesn't change his lifestyle because do anything.

Don't be like RD.

Re: Grenada gettin lash

My friend, the things that do attain
The happy life be these, I find:
The riches left, not got with pain,
The fruitful ground; the quiet mind;

The equal friend; no grudge, no strife;
No charge of rule nor governance;
Without disease the healthy life;
The household of continuance;

The mean diet, no dainty fare;
True wisdom joined with simpleness;
The night discharged of all care,
Where wine the wit may not oppress;

The faithful wife, without debate;
Such sleeps as may beguile the night:
Content thyself with thine estate,
Neither wish death, nor fear his might.

Re: Grenada gettin lash

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
Amen.

Pity you didn't get that one.

Re: Grenada gettin lash

Understanding that I don't have the ability to change the weather is exactly what "knowing the difference" means.

Circular debate.

RD nothing changes anything.

Expat... You know it just might.
