A total FUBAR operation

They had not rehearsed for an operation which had not been approved at a senior level.

They didn't have armoured vehicles, and were attacked by dozens of militants with motorbikes and heavy weapons.

Sounds like they totally underestimated the fighting strength and abilities of "a bunch of skinnies". Bad or no intel, obviously.

Shame, again it's the grunts who pay the ultimate price, for the fukkups of the higher-ups.

Isn't an ambush something you cannot prepare for?

Isn't an ambush by well prepared opponents something that happened on a regular basis during many theaters of war?

Do we now expect warfare to be totally clinical without F.Ups, or mistakes being made.

Hundred and even thousand of innocents were killed in nightly bombing raids in WW2, now we mget red in the face and scream for an investigation if 2 civilians get killed in a drone attack.

Sheesh.... Sheite happens.
