Isn't it time we legalized prostitution?

Seriously, why is prostitution illegal? As the oldest profession, isn't it about time we gave it the recognition it deserves - as an "essential service"?!!

By our very nature, sex is an essential ingredient in everyone's life - no lesser a personage than HIMSELF "commanded" us to go forth and...! But increasingly in today's lonely world, more and more people aren't getting any. Teens prefer to play video games and watch internet porn than meeting and actually trying to mate with the opposite sex, at this rate the world's population will shrink from whence it came! Lack of sex leads to frustration, which can lead to violence - look at this "insel movement" : a bunch of ugly angry young men who can't get laid, taking their frustrations out on innocent women.

In a world of willing buyer - willing seller, and with proper health checks in place, legalized prostitution has a useful function in society. I went to Amsterdam and saw the very well regulated red light - all shapes and sizes on offer! (PS: I said "saw", you bunch of perverts lol!!). If it is legal, it is not exploitation.

Imagine checking into a hotel: "And would you like a woman/man, to go with that deluxe room?"

LOL

And if having sex for money is illegal, why isn't producing pornography?

Put another way, is prostitution only legal if you film it and make the video publically available?

Exactly! Personally I think the world would be a lot less angsty if people could satisfy their NATURAL desires without risking becoming a criminal in the process.

Sir, you can pick up your transvestite prostitute and take him/her to your luxury hotel in Europe. Slice can get smothered in blubber, butt fat. Perhaps he could make oil with the left over. Prostitution should not be legalized but as the same token they should not harassed people who try to make a living out of it. Our society has become so uncommunicative that we have begun to buy people at an alarming rate.  It is easier to buy sex than formulating a relationship. Who the hell wants to be rejected in this hedonistic world ?There's a lot of lonely people in this world and we pass our time doing things that give us  comfort---- if it's even for one minute we want to be happy.

"Prostitution should not be legalized but as the same token they should not harassed people who try to make a living out of it."

Don't you see the dichotomy of what you're saying? Oh let's keep it illegal but don't bother to enforce it. Insane. Legalize it and CLEAN IT UP.

"Sir, you can pick up your transvestite prostitute and take him/her to your luxury hotel in Europe. Slice can get smothered in blubber, butt fat. Perhaps he could make oil with the left over."

And why all the personal finger-pointing and nastiness? Can we engage in "civilized discourse"? Even if the topic is, to your "civilized" ears, uncivilized?

My conversation is civilized. France legalized prostitution but anyone who solicit one will go to jail. Do it but don't get caught. In the Bois de Boulogne, in Paris. my transvestites are getting beaten up and killed by men who use them. Prostitution is not a pretty profession to be in---- with all those men in and out of your body. But, I am not looking down on anyone who does it. If you can't make a living any other way then do it! under the table, that is!

"France legalized prostitution but anyone who solicit one will go to jail."

Ergo, it is NOT legalized, is it? It may be "legally tolerated", but that does not classify as "Legal"

Prostitution should be legal, so that it will reduce trafficking, and pimping.

However don't expect me to be a client.

This is because you are healthy and can build wonderful relationships. Who wants to be in a  hole where thousands of men have deposited their load. It can't be pleasurable for men and women who know how to love and stay in love.
