This is getting ridiculous...

Not too far from my house today...

And I thought the water was cold with a 5mph breeze and a bit of cloud cover. Not swapping dude.

Yes, it is warmer low latitude, tropical islands than in the mid-continental northern plains.

It is amazing how when it is cold here people in the little latitudes love to tell us how nice it is where they are.  It's like if Grenada was getting drowned in monsoon rains and I posted this photo and commented how nice it is where I live.

Re: This is getting ridiculous...

Feeling a little hostile today?

We would have to move the islands several thousand miles to get monsoon rains.  We just settle for the rainy season. Which can be deluges, accompanied by HURRICANES, but you have a lot more of them than we do, it's simply we can't drive to the next state to avoid them.

You big land mass people have big land mass weather... us minuscule tropical islands have .... hot... mostly hot, slightly breezy, very breezy, damp, goddam wet, and very hot. Grenada has been around for about 2 million years. Judging by the topography it didn't see ice shelf at any point in the 2 million. Kinda works for me.

Having your roof ripped off aint fun, I've had 2 go, but that's what insurance is for... that said, unlike you guys that can go next door to get a few sheets of ply, we have to fight each other to get the limited supplies that arrive after a wipe out.

Re: This is getting ridiculous...

Well, sometimes we talk about monsoon rains in this neck of the woods. It's just a euphemism for "a lot of rain".

In Iowa we don't have earthquakes, volcanoes, wild fires, hurricanes or landslides.  We do have tornadoes but I have never seen one.

We definitely have four seasons and we are deep in winter now.  In 90 days it will be warm and delightful.  So it goes.
