Medicine messing up people with mental issues

Did you know that up to 1/3 of outpatient psychiatry patients take 3 or more psychotropic drugs, including antidepressants, anti-anxiety drugs, sleep drugs, and others?

This practice, known as polypharmacy, is risky business.

In a scientific journal article titled “Polypharmacy in Psychiatry: A Review,” researchers warn:

“Polypharmacy is strongly associated with excessive dosing and early death.”

They go on to admit:

“Polypharmacy often becomes a cycle of treating one condition, experiencing side effects, and treating the side effects, until the patient and the clinician cannot remember where the cycle began.”

Even taking just one drug for these conditions brings the potential for side effects. We've already learned about their harmful effect on your microbiome.

So are there safer, better options for helping these types of disorders?

------------------------------------

Simple answer yes.

For sure the drugs used for anti depresents may give a temporary relief, while often dulling the senses, but ultimately the brain fights back and becomes resistant to these drugs often giving worse symptoms than they started with.  Check the warnings in the packet.... its there in black and white, it's not simply cranks waffling on. They KNOW the differing meds can cause irrational behavior, increase suicide risk etc etc.  That's madness. Yet Pharma continues to sell the stuff.

It's just like regular medicines for pain etc, they do more damage than they cure, but control a symptoms.... not the illness for a short period of time.

Re: Medicine messing up people with mental issues

I agree that Americans are over medicated. Right now ah get medicine for Blood Pressure, medicine for infections, medicine for overactive bladder,  so have about 7 different drugs, they even gave me some Oxy but ah tell them no.  I even read in Consumer Reports that Americans are taking too many drugs.  Today ah done the one for infections and I ent taking none ah them.  Then there is Grenada, where there is ah shortage of drugs; so wha you go do?  In that CR report they say about 5% of Americans who are taking that many drugs end up in Emergency rooms.

When you go the doc up here, if you tell them you Finger nail hurts you getting about three different drugs.  While in  Hospital ,me Blood Pressure was 133/85.  Still they gave me Blood Pressure pills.  I ent take it.

Your at home Blood Pressure monitor never ever reads the same as the one in the docs office.  The one in the docs office always reads higher.  Having said all ah dat, gee me the American system, before anything they have in the Caribbean.

133/85 is like taking a stroll, if you had an infection, or were in pain of course you BP would be up Duh. Not to mention white coat syndrome.

Yes the health service is basic, and many people die who need not. But many of those deaths apart from poor nursing is likely to be due to following the same protocols they do in America. People lose feet and die from blood poisoning who have diabetes. A disease you can not just treat, but cure if you simply eat correctly for that condition within about 90 days. Hard choices in a country where starches are so prominent on the plate. My wife was prediabetic, or at least thats what the latest set of standard figures suddenly decided, despite having the symptoms for years the doctors kept saying no.... you are fine.... we don't know why you have mild peripheral nephropathy. THEN they changed the figure that they decided you were prediabetic, and whamo, suddenly over night she had pre diabetes. Amazing. So I told her what not to eat, and within a week she was well below the cut off figure.

Well, there is a place for some drugs at some times.

For example if you have a rampant infection.

There are also a great number of interventions that can be beneficial, and if you got knocked down by a truck or shot, hell the emergency service in America is probably the best in the World.

But just like the UK health service the Doctors and specialists are alopathic. The see an illness they treat THAT illness. They do not look for the root cause. They do not even know how to, they were not taught by the blind leading the blind system that has been running since WW1.

You could have carpel tunnel syndrome... They will say its repetitive strain syndrome, yet another hundred people could be sitting next to you doing the same job without getting it. So they will give you surgery and weeks off work to allow the swelling go down. However if you had gone to a Chiropractor he would have manipulated your neck.... which is the branch where the nerves come out that go to your hands, and given you some simple exercises to do, and the same day you would have been pain free, and in a month your muscle tone would have increased, and the problem would never come back again.

Or you could take pain killers which will prevent joint tissues regrowing, and cause you to disintegrate all the while feeling better.

Nearly all current doctors including eminent surgeons and the like still do not understand the integration of the nervous system, and the affects a distortion of the spine can cause. I have seen many case studies where spines have been surgically locked together..... BELOW the point where the problem was leaving the patient still with chronic pain, plus the surgical pain . I have even seen a case study where they took out much of the hardware they bolted onto someones spine, and the chiropractor then straightened the deformed spine, eliminated the pain, and gave the previously totally fcked patient a decent quality of life.

If you check the surgeons stats for certain spinal operations they will state a 99% success rate. That actually simply states they completed the operation and the patient survives. If you check further you will find that after something like 3 months about a quarter have some form of cronic pain returned, take it out to a year, and it is like 75%, go out to 2 years and it is 96 per cent have problems and many will have repeat surgeries to bond a greater number of spinal segments together. I actually know someone who tis happened too. The stats are out there. And they still continue with the same procedures.

The bodies natural state is HEALTH, it is self protecting, it is self regenerating. Every 3 months you have a whole new body. Simply feed it healthily, including foods to strengthen your biome, and exercise it, and get it manipulated, and most problems will just fade away. Take endless pain killers, antidepressants, blood pressure tablets, statins etc etc, and all you are doing is poisoning your body and the end result is an earlier death than needed to happen. Read the bloody instructions inside those medicine boxes. They TELL you there are common side effects, and those are only the obvious ones, hidden are the pernicious long term affects where you get fatty liver disease, or leaky gut where proteins that should stay in your gut pass through into your blood supply, and cross the blood brain barrier and fck with your brain. You know simple little things like that previously almost unheard of disease Altzhiemers which is now growing like a plague.

The smarty pants who talk about pseudo scientists have already had their children inoculated shortly after birth with a vaccine that is intended to prevent hepatitis, from drug abuse.... kinda hard to catch as an infant with no immune system, with an aluminium content of 200 times over the accepted safe level for an adult. THEY ARE KILLING YOU SOFTLY WITH THEIR SONG.
