Re: Immigration process

Wasn't me, sir.  Last time I was in Canada was in June and I don't think I set foot on dry land.  I just fished Canadian waters.

Re: Immigration process

Not that long ago, early 80's, we would fish on the St. Clair river in a small aluminium boat with a 10hp motor. It was no problem to moor at the docks of a restaurant on the Michigan side for a good meal. No checks, no questions.
Not these days, the eyes in the sky track every movement along the border.

The only give away was that we didn't speak with a twang and our money looked funny.

The Washington Post is reporting that it wasn't an accidental crossing.  They have video of the people driving off-road through a barrier ditch and past warning signs.  They also had $16,000 cash in the vehicle and it is against the law to enter the US with more than $10,000 in cash without a declaration.

The Post is also reporting that US immigration tried to let them return to Canada but Canadian immigration refused to take them.
