Biking in America

Unlike 99% of all American bikers, I rode to work every day, except on the snowiest of snow days. Cooolllddd!!! When I got home my kids would say "Here comes the Michelin Man!"

In DC my first bike was a BMW750, followed by a Yamaha 1300, it amazed me that you rarely say bikes on the roads from Monday to Saturday, but on Sunday: vroom, Hogs galore! Veterans day was the big ride on Washington. When it rained I'd ride past the Harley boys, huddling for shelter under the overpasses! Wimps lol!

Do I miss it? Actually yes, there's nothing more frustrating than riding a big bike in a small country.

Re: Biking in America

Lord me neighbor right across the street had about 10 bikes.  He is now down to maybe two.  He picked me up one day to get my care from the Car dealer and ah say never me again.  Ah taking ah Uber next time.  He begged me to buy one of his bikes.  No sir not me.  I guess as ah get older, I am more afraid of them.

Re: Biking in America

I always advise anyone over the age of 30 who doesn't ride but wants to: don't. Stick to 4 wheels, yuh too old to learn two!

Re: Biking in America

Plus a biker is ALWAYS going to have an accident at some point through their own fault, or somebody elses, bones don't heal so fast as you get older. Not the only reason, but one of them for flogging Marilyn.

Yes I always tell them that too: If you ride, you WILL crash, and when you crash, it WILL hurt lol!

Re: Biking in America

I like the other bike better but, for whatever reason, I like this poster more.
