Just what we need, self driving cars?

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/ … 20-driving

No thanks, I'll walk or ride a bicycle before getting into one of those things.
Why the need? Because the new order says so.

I  think Americans love to drive, they doh want  technology driving them.  Don't think they will ever take hold.

I think so too Slice, but this is the latest wave that appears to be happening. Like it or not, it's the Jetsons era.

Self-driving cars, hoverboards, all designed to make the human race even more couch potatoes.

Imagine the court time for DUI's would go down.

I will bet anything that, even in a self driving car, the prime "operator" must be sober and ready to take manual control if necessary... at least for the foreseeable future.  I think we are some years from snoozing while the car takes us to our destination.

Yes, having the key in the ignition is considered having care and control.
The early stages maybe similar to cruise control, lane passes and parallel parking. But no doubt the insurance companies and law enforcement will have a lot of sorting out to do.
BTW, I would rather have a computer do that parallel parking job for me.

I have a friend who has a new Ford F-150 that uses a computer control for backing trailers.  It is amazing.

Now you really throw ah loop.  I thought, that will be the real benefit for Self Driving vehicles.  Ah doh want me son to drive me, neither me wife.  You think ah go let technology drive me.  As Boehner would say HELL NO.
