Pearl Harbor: Jamaican Prostitute

When I was growing up my story-fabricating mother would aways tell us about the infamous prostitute called Pearl Harbor. When I was around age 14-15, I was wandering around East Queen Street with a bunch of girls and went into a bazaar to look at the vendors merchandizes. After loitering at the stalls for minutes-- with my back turned to the street, I heard a commotion. The hagglers began to throw their supplies at an old frail white woman who had wandered close to them.
I remember one saying, " It's Pearl harbor, Pearl Harbor, let us stone her!"
Sensitized by the drama of it all, I went over to her, took her by her dainty hand and escorted her out on the street.
"Dem ah trouble me," was what the shadow of a voice said to me.
Finally, I had met the infamous and illusive creature. Pearl harbor has inspired me to write a story-- but one with a delightful twist.
I'll name the project "Barracudas from the Beach." Tell me NH and Dancer, have you ever bought her service when you were teenaged boys?

Both just finished high school. Some part time Xmas  first job.

Down behind the Drill Hall ,  waves crashing in the shadows.

Rite of Passage, man! When a boy makes a transition to becoming a man, he needs an older and experienced woman to take his chastity. Pearl Harbor would have given you for free. She was not filthy or broken-down when I met her. She was indeed down on her luck and NH could have given her 50 bucks to emerge as a MAN!!

Ooman, you know nothing about men, maybe that's why you ain't got one? No normal boy has a rite of passage with a prostitute, the true rite is every boy's first fumbling sexual experience - invariably ending in embarrassing disaster lol! Emerge from a prostitute as a man? An asshole more like. But then, maybe that's how all your ex-men became "MEN". Says a lot.

Houston, you are right. Pearl could have made big bucks in Cuba as a high-class whore in the '50s. Obviously, she didn't have the brains to do it.
