Rough year! Just writing and finishing up a collection. I am swimming , hiking and eating and loving....... living.....

But just a small question ,  do you write short stories for the 'present' . > Subway to Manhattan ,  < or  A day on Jefferson Ave , > or even >  Millie in Washington.
You get where I am going.. I hope.  Why  does  so much WI writing speaks so much of the past.
After living in the Boston    ,  NY   ,  or   Vancouver for  years.
Someone should have something      to say.
Just saying.

What stops our writers and playwrights dealing with the  present.

We do deal with the present. My first collection has a specific postcolonial theme and that is why all the stories took place iin the '3s and '40s. My second collection is very present it's about Caribbean people in the diaspora.  We deal with the present!

But now you are 'rested' ,  swimming , hiking and drinking , getting your grove  , how about a 'pop' short story. With your writing style.
Could be R rated. .... ( on your spare time)  Maybe  you might like it.
