Gun Stats

I was just sent a "well this is why it's good to have guns" chain email.

Although the quoted figures were for homicide rather than gun deaths.

A quick scroll down the roll of dishonor put T&T at number 11

Grenada at 64

America at 79

Britain at 158

So despite all the British news about knife crime etc, it is still a considerably safer place per 100,0000 than the safest Island in the Caribbean. The only place safer cos nothing happens there at all is Des Moins.

News :  Jamaica's strong measures to reduce crime.
Between Jan 1 and July 15 this year , Jamaica recorded 726 murders , 726 shootings across 19 Police divisions.
The total number of people killed last year was 1,287.
... The house approved the 90 day extension  of the SOE. ( The SOE gives  the security forces additional powers , of search , arrest etc.
