Re: Star Spangled Banner

As a young man, or yufe, I bought Hendrix albums, and thought it was all good stuff.

Not that it matters I saw him shopping in Waitrose in Chiswick at one point.

Watching that clip emphasised that a lot of his stuff was just distorted crap with a lot of showmanship.

The question rests with whether the original version bore any truth, or whether it was fantasy.

Re: Star Spangled Banner

In August 1970 I was living in London and all my mates were going down to the Isle of Wight rock festival, but no matter how much I begged my dad he wouldn't let me go. "There'll be drugs, drink and sex there" he said - yes I KNOW!!! Hendrix headlined the show, and week later he was dead in a London flat. Missed out again. sad
