VERY HARD TO SOCIAL DISTANCE, WHEN FOLKS ARE DRUNK and are mourning.

As much as we tried, we had no idea what to do.  The death of me mother-in-law kinda had us doing what we were not suppose to be doing.  We plan all along there will be no visitors.  On Monday was the viewing.  As hard as we tried folks showed up at our house.  Some brought food, some brought liquor and wanted to lime; so, there was ah lime until about 10pm, we had to run them outa we house.

It is kinda what is expected in a West Indian funeral.  Yesterday was another story, folks from ah few other states, came prepared  for what they call ah celebration of life.  We  quickly had to scramble to get things together in no time, there was about fifty folks in and around the house.  We had the time to insist, not in the house, but outside and everyone must wear a mask and try to Social distance.

Great thing was one of ladies from NY is ah GREAT West Indian cook.  In about two hours we had all the Caribbean favorite foods ready.  Liquor was in abundance and all Top Shelf.

About one hour into the night folks started taking of their mask and started behaving like, there was not ah virus out there.  At that time it was outa control, and ah left and locked mesellf in ah room.   Dat did not last very long, because ah was the DJ.

She was ah wonderful mother-in-law.  Was with us in America since 1985. May she rest in peace.

Condolences to you and your family, Slice.
Always difficult to see the elders move on, not an easy time to be losing a loved one.

Condolences, and glad to see at least one of you had the sense to haul ass.

Trusting there are no further repercussions with your immediate family.
