Re: No Satisfaction

Golden Slumbers et al was a fitting last song on their last "real" album, Let It Be was a pastiche of stuff they had lying around the studio after they'd broken up, over produced and overcooked. I remember it was originally sold in a box with this big photo compilation, but they soon stopped that when it wasn't selling. What was John on when he made this lol?

This was the absolute best - and I was on Baker Street, just the very day before the Beatles rooftop concert!!

Re: No Satisfaction

Awesome stuff NH. No doubt the Fab Four were and still are fascinating.
I often wondered why McCartney wore an Ontario Provincial Police crest on the cover of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.
This may, or may not explain why.

Re: No Satisfaction

Mystery solved, will the real Sgt. Pepper take a bow! Now who was Mr. Kite? Actually I know who Mr. Kite was, a Victorian-era poster for a circus that John saw and the song literally wrote itself.

Re: No Satisfaction

Was at a McCartney show once and he described how that song came to be. You are right, Kite was in a poster on Lennons bedroom wall as the two tried to come up with something to write.
Suddenly bingo, let's write a tune about Mr. Kite.
They make it sound so simple but surely the lads had quite an imagination to go along with their musical talent.
