Not anti-cover at all, I just posted one by Prince an' dem. In Jamaica we call them do-overs: a reggae of a foreign song, very often C&W, Jamaicans LOVE country! Go into any country rumshop and there'll be some old souse at the bar, sitting his whites and wearing out the Jim Reeves records on the jukebox. There's many many songs that, when I hear the original for the first time I'm shocked, cos I only ever heard the do-over!
