Oh god American houses, we owned a house in Virginia which I christened the Micky Mouse House, not a solid bone in it! Plasterboard walls, fake brick cladding, one of my sons through his brother halfway through the basement wall! With much pride, I might add. I watched them put up a development on my jogs, most popular tools are mail guns and riveters, it's up in four months!
As it so happens, I'm a month into my own, final, house-building project, which my kids tell me to stop calling 'my final resting place'!! We jokingly started calling it the corny Dunroamin, which after living in dozens of countries, seems to fit. It's a good deal more solid than my last house, of Micky Mouse fame!
..... So NH getting some new digs. Up in the mini hills. Lo.
I see lots of concrete . Let's see if I can save NH some cash and give charm to house design.
I am 90% finished . Covid put a halt to the finishing touches. I need a trip.
Anyhow ...
Bungalow built , perimeter 4 walls built with concrete bricks.
Separations in the house with 2x4s covered with drywall (keeping cool ) . Only bathrooms total concrete.
Flooring wood , got some Guyana hardwood , beautiful flooring ,better than WSS 'historic house'.
Wanna visit WSS. Its in the country , just rolling hills., pardon , minimal bush
lol.

Piedmontemps? Piedmontagne? Perdmontemps? Me likkle village suffering from an identity crisis!!
"There are two versions of how Perdmontemps got its name. One has it from the French Perde Mon Temps – Waste (or Lost) My Time. But an alternative legend, from no less an authority than my grandfather, holds a different view. The town sits directly beneath a towering volcanic cone, Morne Gazo, (Mongozo), and the true name of the area, as spelled on postage stamps of the day, was Pied Montagne – Foot of the Mountain. I prefer that version. Whichever, then as now, Perdmontemps was no more than a few houses, one shop, two churches and three bars, strung out along the Eastern Main Road."
