I would propose that until maybe 10 - 15 years ago British healthcare would have been a practical, and effective form of care which was appropriate for 90% of the populace, allowing those with money to waste to go private..... and be seen by exactly the same specialists..... just in a shorter period of time.

Regrettably due to an influx of financial immigrants many of whom will come and work... probably be recipients of cash payments, and then head back to their motherland pockets stuffed full of GBP Having possibly had their children at the UK's expense, and their TB sorted out etc etc... plus the health service which has been tinkered with by managers from outside the industry who had no real perception of what hands on health care is have ballsed it up, aided by lack of investment, plus fancy new scanners and other incomprehensibly expensive equipment. Loss of key figures in hospitals like Matrons, changes in care procedures turning nurses into book keepers, and outsourcing of fundamentals like cleaning. The health service is now the basket case you would insist public healthcare would be..... But it wasn't so, and didn't need to be.

Privately run insurance compared to public NI insurance is a completely different animal, and having used both, I would rather the State version run properly, for all.... allowing that your arthroscope may take 6 weeks to do rather than 2 days, than have an industry populated by clinicians whose chief concern is how much they will make out of your procedure.

Amazes me how you've lived in Grenada since forever yet remain an expert on the current state of the NHS. As usual your knee-jerk reaction is to say "due to an influx of financial immigrants" for the NHS's recent decline. How about "due to continued deep budget cuts by successive Tory governments"? The NHS is far from a basket case, although to you expats living on a diet of Daily Mail news, it might well appear to be so.

I hate Free Loaders.  I see the same in America. Some Foreigners are draining the state.  Especially the Jews.  West Indians are not normally Free loaders, but there are a few.

I wanted so badly to take objections to Expat point about foreigners, but believe it or not he has ah point.  In my case it is not the foreigners I take objections too, but rather the lazy bastards, who do not want to work and I have to take care of them on their whole family.

I know I am not American, and I should take what ever is given to me, but, how can you be in 30s and not working?  Looking for ah hand out and taking advantage of me and others who work hard every day, I just cant get  This bothers the SHEET outa me.

Me and me wife started working for $3.50 an hour.  At times I was working three jobs and my wife two.

My child is 21 and when he is not in school, he also works two jobs.

There is one street in Baltimore than runs from Africa to Israel, it is called Park Heights.  Take ah drive on a Friday night or Saturday morning and you will see them.  Each family has about five children and none ent working.

There are two parts to that area, or maybe three.  The very poor, the middle and the very rick Jews. It is common knowledge they are all or most are on welfare.  Then the Africans say if the Jews can do it so can we.
