What an excellent point you make. You example is so perfect that you even confused the two Chinas without realizing it.
Tiawan is the Republic of China.. China is the Peoples Republic of China.. So yes, a names really conveys a lot more than we think and can clear up or create confusion in the minds of people. That is why we name people and not just refer to them as he, she, or it. And when we name states we must be sure that the name sufficiently describes the state for which it stands. Therein lies our claim....
