Now, you might think that we are beating up on the former Prime Minister but after only one week in opposition Mitchell is trying to claim the spotlight and he is off on the wrong track.
According to a press release from the NNP,
"Dr. Mitchell also called on the Chinese Officials to hold talks with Taiwan as soon as possible to relieve Grenada of debts owed. Dr Mitchell said he had already made this request as Prime Minister and noted that the Chinese Government promised to deal with this request after the election. He told the team that he would continue to make this call as Opposition Leader as this debt relief was an important agenda item for Grenada".
However, according to an interview with China's Special envoy to the Caribbean, Ambassador Zhao Zhenyu, no such discussion took place.
