a voice of reason. reading all the other posts its amazing to feel all the 'hate and malice' coming thru. her experience might not have been your experience - and barbados back in the time i was in high school ('late 77 -83) - the "race" issue was always there - but never really talked about. stuff was never in your face the way it is in the USA. But i've have seen and heard comments from students in my class/school about their darker skinned counterparts. so don't say it didn't happen. you all sound like haters. go Rhianna girl - they can't do nothing with you.
