I would say this. I don't know if your story is true but shortly before the elections [in april] I had a run in with some goons at Karma on the carenage who were SUPPOSEDLY pro-NDC and I was shocked. Grenada doesn't need that $#!t.
They were led by a dude who is ocasionally a T.V. host from my understanding. Short, brown-skinned, mixed, chubby.
This is how it went. Karoake night and me and my long time female friend, T., who is very pretty [not exaggerating] went there to chill for a bit. She was sitting up at the bar and I was reclining in a couch a short distance away when this lowlife T.V. personality approached her and started making conversation with her. She being cordial made small talk but at a certain point when he started to get agressive and she stopped talking to him but he wouldn't stop harassing her. She left the bar and came to me and said he was making her quite uncomfortable and asked me to come sit with her.
Well now I had to leave my comfortable spot and go sit on this hard stool and to make matters worse she took another seat and gave me her previous one which placed me between her and the agressor. Things got nasty fast.
He started calling her the nastiest names, and started swearing at me telling me to tie my dog and service my (Expletive Deleted) and clip my bird wings etc. and making jestures like he was going to slap me and pour his dring over my head. He carried on like that for about half an hour until another male grenadian-canadian friend who was with us approached me and asked in my ear if I wanted him to handle the situation. I told him no, but I realised the situation was getting explosive so I turned to the fellow and advised him that I was driving an ASP of police vehicle, ASP John McIntyre in this case and all I had to do to rid myself of him was to make one call, hoping that would calm him down.
The dude took out his cell phone and made a call, and then started carrying on: F--- Keith Mitchell, F--- NNP, F--- the police and on and on. It was really embarassing by now and T. was pulling on my sleeves for us to leave. I decide too, but before us three could do so a gang of thugs showed up demanding to know what was going on, and where we were from etc. Much like the police would do. We refused to have any discourse with them, and headed for the exits.
All this happened while the Karma security guy and management was looking on and doing nothing, so I guess this guy does pull a bit of weight in the area.
But I was really disheartened at what I saw and especially as it seemed to be coming from a pro-NDC faction. I never said anything before because I didn't want to give ammo to NNP, but I would say this, if Peter David has supporters who he knows behaves like that, which I doubt very much, he should reign them in. Grenada is too small for that $#!t.
Too, some people tackles what they percieve to be kittens and never see the mountain lion looking back at them for what it is. Restraint on my part probably saved lives that night.
The damn thing got to me so bad that I ended up driving the wrong way up Lucas St. Hear T.: Aye if police pull us over now both of us is canadian you know, and i would be more canadian than you. I had a good laugh to end what started off as a good night and got messed up midway. Anywy, after that I started to hang out more at Sunset and the latin dance in PBC and avoided karma.
Again, I doubt Peter David knows or lends support to these thugs. If he does, as an ardent NDC advocate, I would be extremely dissappointed.
