I think that all the points you brought up here are on target. Maybe too, the doctors and nurses long for better accomodation and equipment and better procedures to be put in place? Maybe what they have to deal with on the job is bringing down morale and thus affecting their performance negatively???

With all that if it is indeed a factor, they need to always bear in mind that peoples' lives are at stake and they will have to act accordingly.

On the other hand, our people must remember the old saying that an ounce of prevention is better than a whole pound of cure.

The government should (if they have not done so as yet) encourage/initiate programmes that teach healthy eating and exercise habits. These days you do not see or hear children in Grenada playing and running around the way we used to and this does not foster good habits for life as adults. As children, they had to beg us to come in out of the hot sun and even if we came in for a few minutes we were out again as soon as their backs were turned.
