>>All the same, some of those same doctors are probably longing for freedom <,

well AIM...

Cuba doctors are all over the world..and if as U say dey are longing for "freedom" dey would surely would have been clogging up the foreign embassies in those respective countries begging for asyslum...

and AIM..

did U know that there is an active drive to recruit Cuban doctors working in foreign lands to defect ?

it is the ongoing effort to embarass cuba...

but after all those years with all types of "heaven on earth" offerings... only a tiny number defects...

itis so tiny..that it cannot be used for propoganda purposes...

>>The right to vote must also be something that you take advantage of or at least should while you could.<,

actually AIM..cubans do vote...

they vote and in secret ballot for the municipal assemblies...and in the provinical assemlies...

and U should note..that there is no electoral campaigning.

The prospective candidate works along with only his own merit...his charcter..work in the commmunity etc...

U can make a case that it is different from what U know as the paliamentarian form of govt with the two party system...

but I ask U..

is it really a two party system...??

and I asked U especially in the caribbean...

has the so called palimentarian system served us well..?

for eg..after U cast your 15 second vote in the voting booth...

are U as a collective have any voice again?

in any case do a search on line for elections in cuba...

U will see much more...
