Subject: Re: Proposed Lauriston Airport Expansion

Lauriston is presently 2,625ft long. A Dash 8-300 requires 3,900ft in wet conditions. nO JET can land on a runway that short, the minimum is a Jetstream or an Embraer ERJ-145 which requires about 5,400 in the wet. Once you're over 5,000 you are generally classed as a "jet airport".

Does Kayak NEED a jet airport? Have studies been done to show that there is demand for one? Of course not! But hey, these foreign "investors" want to do it, so let's just do it, who needs to ask difficult and unwelcome questions?
