Because Sparrow said so.
What we (those who are not Sparrow) think about knighthood is not that important in this case. De Birdie thinks he deserves it and wants it.

Sparrow said he and another sibling lived in Grenada for a few years in their early teens, becuase of some family matters. I remember him sayng that in an interview during the period of the Grenada Revolution, when he visited the Spice Isle.<<
That is quite correct. I was surprise to the tone of the article. Basically suggesting that the only contact Sparrow has had with Grenada was the first 12 months of his life. I know the writer, Rod Broome, very well. So the next time I see him I am gonna ask him what's up with that.
