People are missing the point, I am not saying that members of the public shouldn't help in emergency situations and in most cases that is a good thing. Fires are all not the same. If you are a well meaning civilian and you throw water on an oil fire you will only spread the fire. if its an electrical fault that has resulted in a fire and water is poured you can get a nasty shock. What if the cylinder tank became over heated and blew up. What if the building stored drugs or chemicals. This is not Grenada of 20 or 30 years ago. The so called neighbour helping putting out the fire might have started the same fire. I am all for saving life and protecting property, but the person saving the life if not properly equipped or ill trained can easily loose their life and in some cases cause more harm. The picture also shows on person in a firefighters suit, where are the other firefighters.
